They are specially trained to help you gain access to different members of the practice team. All information is treated in the strictest confidence. Please remember that their job is not an easy one.

Practice Nurse RN1 (1) Full Time
Our practice nurse is available for health education (smoking, diet, exercise), health check-up and vaccinations. She is also available for holiday vaccinations, blood pressure screening, weight control, height and urine testing, cervical smears and chronic disease management (asthma, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure).

Health Care Assistant
The health care assistant is trained to assist the doctors and the practice nurse by carrying out blood pressure checks, taking ECGs and blood samples. She also performs various other duties such as preliminary screening for chronic disease management.

ATTACHED STAFF
NHS Forth Valley also employs district nurses, health visitors and phlebotomists who work from within the Health Centre.

District Nurses RN1, District Nursing Qualification
These nurses provide skilled nursing care for patients in their own home. They do dressings, bathing of the disabled at home, advise about incontinence and nursing appliances as well as all aspects of short and long-term nursing care of patients at home. They also provide support and advice for 'carers' of patients at home.
They can be contacted on 554231. If they are unavailable at the time of your call they will return your call at their earliest convenience.

Health Visitors RN1, HRHV
Health visitors can also be contacted on 554231. If they are unavailable at the time of your call they will return your call at their earliest convenience.
They promote the good health of our patients of all age groups both at home and in the surgery and assess the needs of the elderly, disadvantaged and disabled and can mobilise, help and support. Actively involved in prevention of disease and maintenance of good health in mothers, babies and pre-school children at the weekly immunisations and child development clinics in the practice, they are available for help and advice on all aspects of health care for mothers, babies and pre-school children.
They run a well baby clinic in the Health Centre every Thursday 1.30 - 2.30pm - NO APPOINTMENT REQUIRED.
